Students were required to work as a team to design and build a structure that would stand independently and fit on a paper plate. Rattler Family, our school-based health center (Wellness Center) has received a grant from the ADH Office of Oral Health to aid with school-based dental sealants. Dental sealants are thin coatings that, when painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, can prevent dental decay for many years. School dental sealant programs are an effective way to reach children between the ages of six and 14 to prevent cavities. Dr. Bishop and his hygienist will be screening and placing dental sealants. Last week, elementary and seventh- and eighth-grade students received information and a permission slip to bring home. Please sign and return the permission slip if you would like your student to be seen at the clinic.
