Rattler Family, Logan County Extension Agent Charla Hammonds has been on campus the past two days conducting the "Get Real-Here's the Deal" seminar about life skills for our junior high students. A part of the seminar includes the students having to make a budget based on their career in order to have the necessities of life -- food, shelter, transportation, etc. -- and then making those purchases. Rattler Family, Magazine Schools Resource Officer Jerry Holt, along with Magazine Police Chief Brett Chappell, conducted an impaired driving car accident scene re-enactment this afternoon (Friday, April 14) on campus to give our junior high and high school students a look at the real-life consequences and effects of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs or riding with someone who is driving impaired. We wish to not only thank Officer Holt and Chief Chappell for conducting this important educational assembly but all of those who volunteered their time and services for this re-enactment -- Logan County EMS, Magazine Fire Department and First Responders, Logan County Sheriff's Office and Bobby Posey of Affordable Wrecker Service.
