Rattler Family, our final regular-season home football games will be on Friday (Oct. 30)when the Junior Rattlers and Rattlers host Guy Perkins in 8-Man West Conference games at Shorty Wright Field at Diamondback Stadium. It also will be Senior Night, and we will recognize our senior student-athletes in the sports of football, cross country, golf, cheer and band. Rattler Family, our junior high cross country student-athletes competed well during Saturday's 1A-4 Conference Meet at Magazine. Rebekah Merritt used a late surge to finish runner-up in the junior high girls division with a time of 11:04, while Alaric McCormick finished 15th in the junior high boys division with a time of 10:58. Rattler Family, our senior high girls and boys cross country teams had a strong performance in Saturday's 1A-4 Conference Meet, hosted by Magazine High School. Senior Serenity Mora won the senior high girls championship with a time of 20:21, senior Cecilia Mora finished fourth with a time of 25:49, sophomore Rowynn Packard finished fifth with a time of 27:03, Aura Turner finished 10th with a time of 30:24, sophomore Lifa Cer finished 11th with a time of 31:45 and senior Josie Oliver finished 13th with a time of 36:23. The senior high girls also won the overall meet championship. In senior boys, senior Connor Hopper finished runner-up with a time of 18:05, senior George Thawng finished eighth with a time of 20:43, Chris Stafford finished 16th with a time of 24:33, freshman Alaric McCormick finished 21st with a time of 27:04 and Lester Wyrick finished 22nd with a time of 34:51. Rattler Family, we have an opportunity for our students, staff, alumni and community members to put their talents on display as our Magazine Beta Club is presenting its Magazine Talent Show at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Diamondback Arena. Talent divisions include elementary school, high school and staff, alumni and community members. Plaques will be awarded to all division winners. Entry forms are available at the elementary school and high school offices or by scanning the QR code in the flyer below. The deadline to enter is Tuesday, Nov. 3. There is no entry fee, but admission will be $5 for everyone with those age 5 or under admittee free. Concessions will be available.
