Rattler Family, it's GAME DAY! Our junior high and senior high football teams will begin 8-Man West Conference play tonight when they host Rose Bud at Shorty Wright Field at Diamondback Stadium for Military Appreciation Night. The junior high game will begin at 5 p.m. with the senior high game following at about 7 p.m. We have lots of special events tonight with the Rattler Mini-Cheer Campers performing "Party in the USA" at halftime of the junior high game, the Parade of Flags by our senior high football players during the opening run-through of the senior high game and our celebration and recognition of our military members past and present during halftime of the senior high game. Rattler Family, it was a great day for our Lady Rattler and Rattler cross country runners on Tuesday during the Today's Bank Mansfield Invitational. Senior Serenity Mora earned her second meet championship of the fall season, winning the senior girls event with a time of 23:39.56, and senior Cecilia Mora finished 10th with a time of 29:32. Junior Connor Hopper finished fourth in the senior boys race with a time of 19:43.03, and George Thawng finished 17th with a time of 25:21.44. Rattler Family, Magazine Schools will host its annual Military Appreciation Night on Friday (Sept. 25), when the Rattlers host the Rosebud Ramblers at 7 p.m. Shorty Wright Field at Diamondback Stadium. We invite active-duty service members, National Guard members, Reserve members, veterans and their families to join us for Military Appreciation Night. Admission is free for active-duty military members, National Guard members, Reserve members and veterans and participants who sign up will be invited onto the field for a special recognition during halftime. Rattler Family, it was a great day for learning as we celebrated Constitution Day in our high school social studies classes. Students in Mr. Gipson's U.S. History classes have been learning about President Roosevelt's New Deal programs, and today learned about how some questioned whether the Social Security Program based on Article I, Section VIII and the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution was constitutional with the Supreme Court ruling that it was constitutional based on its interpretation. Students used ELA skills in reading excerpts of stories about the Social Security Program from primary sources to answer questions that led to math computations to help determine the code to open the Social Security Fund Chest Civics students analyzed case studies to determine if the actions were constitutional or unconstitutional, and World History students completed their study of the Church of England during the Reformation by writing paragraphs defining what our Constitution's "Freedom of Religion" meant to them.
