Rattler Family, Magazine volleyball coach Aleeah Blansett will conduct a Magazine Elementary Red Spikers Volleyball Camp from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Oct. 3-5 at the old high school gym for students in the second-sixth grades. The cost is $15 per camper and includes an after-school snack and water (no t-shirt included). Registration forms and payment should be turned in to the elementary school office no later than Oct. 2. Sophomore Phoebe Hopper finished fifth in the senior girls 5k. Freshman Serenity Mora led the Junior Lady Rattlers to a fourth-place finish overall with a 10th-place finish in the junior girls 3k. Cecilia Mora finished 13th, followed by Emily Reddy (16th), Anberlyn Turley (20th) and Kendra Schriver (21st). One big event will be our annual Red Ribbon Week Rally on the campus of Magazine Elementary on Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m. There will be lots of fun games and activities, music, opportunities for a flu shot and free food. Also, there will be a special guest speaker, Coach David Verdu, a high-energy speaker who present his "Bullying Awareness" program, and Alexandria Kelsey with the American Lung Association will speak to parents on the dangers of vaping.
