Rattler Family, students in Mrs. Root's fourth-grade class have been learning about folklore and legends of Arkansas with hands-on learning opportunities. Today, students examined persimmon seeds to see whether they contained a spoon, a fork or a knife, researched and investigated what that meant as far as winter forecasting according to the legends and folklore and wrote about their findings. Most of the persimmon seeds contained a "spoon", which means heavy snowfall for the area.
