Rattler Family, Magazine Elementary School will celebrate Grandparents Day with a week-long celebration from Sept. 12-16. Grandparents of elementary students are encouraged to have breakfast and/or lunch with their grandchildren during the week. Cost is $2.25 for breakfast and $3.75 for lunch. Also, grandparents are encouraged to come and read to their grandchildren's class during the week, too. Registration forms will be sent home with students today (Thursday, Sept. 1). Rattler Family, it's time to officially celebrate the partnership between Magazine Schools and K-12 Culinary Connection! Grand Opening Day will be lunch time on Friday, Sept. 9, at both the elementary and high school cafeterias. The menu will be orange chicken, fried rice, pepperoni pizza, broccoli, fresh salad bar, fruit cocktail, fresh fruit and milk. This event is open to parents, faculty and staff, and cost for an adult meal is $3.75. Rattler Students, Magazine High School is working to promote kindness and inclusion on campus. We are all set to celebrate the launch of the Kindness Club on Friday (Aug. 26). Each student in the sixth-12th grade and all high school staff will receive a FREE sno-cone during their lunch. Kona Ice will be set up by the cafeteria from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. on Friday. High school students and staff will need to get a sno-cone during their lunch break. Our sixth graders will arrive at 11:45 a.m.-12:05 p.m. to get their sno-cones. We will open the Kindness Club to anyone who wants to join during Club Rush on Wednesday (Aug. 31) and Thursday (Sept. 1). This club is made possible by a grant with Special Olympics written by 2022 Magazine graduates Brianna Tripp and Jazzman Corley. The club is sponsored by Magazine Elementary counselor Shanna Moore and Magazine High School Special Education teacher Danielle Lyle.
