Rattler Family, basketball homecoming activities are just around the corner. Designated dress-up days will be Feb. 1-3, 6-7 at both the elementary and high school. Below is a list of themes for each dress-up day. The homecoming game will be at 6 p.m. on Feb. 7 when Magazine hosts Fort Smith Future School in a senior boys game only at Diamondback Arena.

Rattler Family, here's a reminder that the Logan County Cove Lake Polar Plunge 2023 to benefit Arkansas Special Olympics will be at noon on Feb. 18 at Cove Lake in Paris. Both Magazine Elementary School Principal Jared Higginbotham and High School Principal Matt Binford have agreed to participate in the Polar Plunge. Each campus has a fundraising goal of $250 for each principal. The principal with the least amount raised will have to participate in the Polar Plunge. If both campuses each raise $500 for their principal, then BOTH principals will participate in the Polar Plunge. Rattler Family, our Magazine Elementary fifth-grade students participated in United States Flag Etiquette Training this morning (Friday, Jan. 20). The training was conducted by members of the William O. Darby Rangers Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America and consisted of 45 minutes of instruction and a video presentation outlining the proper etiquette and respect to be rendered to our national flag by all citizens as required by federal law. #RattlerPride #RattlerFamily


Rattler Family, during the opening day of the senior high Arkansas State Beta Club Convention on Thursday (Jan. 19), our Beta Club members earned several awards in academic competitions. Freshmen Carissa Webster and Phoebe Hopper (pictured below) finished first in Agriscience and second in Freshman English Language Arts, respectively. Sophomore Kalynn Downs finished fifth in Sophomore Science, sophomore Trinidy Harding finished fifth in Division I (Ninth and 10th Grade) Mixed Media Visual Arts, and sophomore McKenzie Morris received first place for her painting and received Best of Show for Division I in Visual Arts. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Student school day performances will be Tuesday (Jan. 17) in the morning for junior high and high school students and in the afternoon for elementary students. Admission is $2. All proceeds from admission will go to offset the costs of the Beta Club's trip to the upcoming state convention.
