Rattler Family, as the school year draws to a close and we all turn our attention to summer, especially vacations, day trips, family reunions, etc., it is important to note that for student-athletes summer practices and workouts will be ongoing as well. So as you plan your trips and get-togethers, please note that the Arkansas Activities Association "Dead Period" -- a time when any and all school-related athletic activity is prohibited -- will be Sunday, June 25, through Saturday, July 8. Rattler Family, our third- and fourth-grade gifted and talented students learned how to use the sewing machine and made a rag quilt. We wish to thank Ladonna Brahler for donating the fabric and offering helpful advice and Gaylon Scharbor for the use of her sewing supplies and for offering helpful advice. Rattler Family, members of the fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade quiz bowl teams challenged an all-star team of faculty that included Coach Ryan Chambers, Mrs. Brooke Bolinger, Mrs. Tracy Schlinker, Coach Zack Griffin and Mr. Jonathan W. Gipson to a match on Thursday (May 18) afternoon. Led by Chambers, the faculty all-star team held off the students 280-275 after sixth-grader Halo McLeod led a strong comeback attempt for the students in the final round.
