Magazine High School is proud to recognize four students who have been nominated to represent the school and community as delegates to the American Legion Arkansas Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Arkansas Girls State. Juniors Ethan Haugh and Trace Nicholas will attend the 81st session of Arkansas Boys State at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway on May 29-June 3. They will join more than 475 young men from across the state in the immersive leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion. Juniors Adalyn Staton and Raeleigh Case will attend the 79th session of the American Legion Auxiliary Arkansas Girls State at Harding University on May 29-June 3. They will join young women from across the state in the immersive leadership and civic engagement experience sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Recently, members of the Rocky Balboabots robotics team presented an awesome assembly based on its competition during the FIRST World Championship that was held on April 20-23 in Houston, Texas. We would like to recognize two Magazine Schools students who are members of the Rocky Balboabots for their hard work on the team – freshman McKenzie Morris and sixth-grader Connor Hopper. Rattler Family, this Friday (May 20), we have several special and fun events taking place at the high school. We will honor our students' academic achievements during a student awards assembly beginning at 8:15 a.m. at Diamondback Arena. That will be followed by our annual advisory picnic at about 11 a.m. on the high school campus, and we'll end the day with the always-entertaining faculty/staff vs. students softball game at 1 p.m. at Diamondback Stadium. Magazine High School students, faculty and staff celebrated Rattler Pride Academic Signing Day on Tuesday in Diamondback Arena. The assembly recognized each of the graduating seniors and their post-high school plans. Each of the graduating seniors signed a letter of commitment pledging to further their success by attending college, entering a trade school, joining the military or joining the work force. Students also pledged to strive to make Magazine Schools proud while doing their best to achieve their goals and live a successful life. #RattlerPride #RattlerFamily

The Magazine Schools Beta Club hosted a Daddy/Daughter and Mother/Son Dance for students in grades Pre-K through sixth grade on Friday (May 6) at Diamondback Arena. The event was a fundraiser for the Beta Club’s trip to the national convention this summer. Beta Club members worked taking admission at the door, selling concessions, taking pictures, playing music and even leading dances on the floor.
