Magazine students were very successful during the recent Arkansas Junior High and Senior High State Beta Club Conventions in Hot Springs with a total of 30 students earning the opportunity to compete in academic and performing arts competitions at the National Beta Club Convention in June in Louisville, Ky.

Beta Club members are now fundraising to help offset the costs of their trip to the national convention.

The national convention registration fee for each member and sponsor is $50.

Perhaps the biggest expense will be lodging. Club members and sponsors will need lodging for four nights. To stay in the hotel adjacent to the convention center, it’s estimated that the students’ portion of the lodging expense would be about $250 each. There are also lodging expenses for sponsors and bus drivers.

That doesn’t include meals and sightseeing trips the students may have the opportunity to go on.

“We are fundraising to try to reduce the cost for each student, but all donations would be appreciated greatly,” Magazine Beta Club sponsor Donna Riddle said.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to support the Beta Club’s trip to the national convention can contact Riddle at 866-900-2021, Ext. 8116 or at donna.riddle@magazinek12.com.
