MAGAZINE – Senior Ainslee Chappell has been named the valedictorian of the Magazine High School Class of 2026, which will graduate at 2 p.m. on Sunday (May 17) at Diamondback Arena.

Chappell, who has attended Magazine Schools since she was 3-years-old, is involved in basketball, golf, softball and track and field. She is a member of the state and national award-winning MHS Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Future Farmers of America and Future Business Leaders of America.

She also is a member of Magazine First Baptist Church, where she volunteers in the children’s program.

Throughout high school, she has served as Class Vice President, Student Council President and FFA Vice President and as a leader in FCA. She also was Football Homecoming Queen. In addition to her school and church involvement, Chappell enjoys officiating and umpiring in the Magazine Little League Organization in her spare time.

Chappell will graduate high school with 33 hours of college credit, a 4.29 GPA and with more than 1,000 community engagement hours. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith and pursue a degree in elementary education and give back to her community school.

Her favorite school memory was having her dad, Magazine High School girls softball, basketball and golf coach Buck Chappell, as her coach and the memories made with him and all of her friends through the years.

Chappell said that she is “honored to graduate as valedictorian of the Class of 2026” and is “thankful for the support of her family, friends and teachers.”

“I couldn’t have done it without them,” Chappell said.
