Senior Phoebe Hopper has been named the salutatorian of the Magazine High School Class of 2026, which will graduate at 2 p.m. on Sunday (May 17) at Diamondback Arena.
Hopper is a member of the state and national award-winning MHS Beta Club and the tradition-rich Lady Rattler cross country and track and field teams. This year, she won the Class 1A State Championship in cross country, won a Class 1A State Championship in three events – 800-meter run, 1600-meter run and 3200-meter run – and set the school record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.64.
Hopper has been awarded the prestigious University of Arkansas-Fayetteville Honors College Fellowship Scholarship and the Arkansas Distinguished Governor’s Scholarship. She will be attending the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville and plans to major in psychology.
There, she also will be a student in the prestigious Fulbright Honors Program, which is a specialized four-year academic program within the J.William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences that features smaller classes, dedicated mentorship and research opportunities for high-achieving students.
