Online Concurrent Credit Courses

To help students prepare for their future after high school, Magazine Schools offers free online concurrent college courses that allow students to receive college credit while still attending high school. Students can enroll in college courses such as English Composition I and II, College Algebra, College Math, World Civilization I and II and American History I and II. Students in the recent 2022 graduating class left MHS with anywhere from six to 20-plus college credit hours.

Purple Star School

Magazine Schools has been designated as a Purple Star District. We are the FIRST and ONLY school district in Logan County to earn this prestigious designation. The Arkansas Purple Star School Award for military-friendly schools recognizes schools that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces. This is a tremendous honor, and it further shows our dedication to ALL students.

A Message From Principal Matt Binford

Come find your place at Magazine High School. Our school provides a quality educational program with a personalized approach. We believe in doing #Whateverittakes. Whether your plan is to head to a four-year university, pursue skilled trades or manage life on the farm, Magazine High School stands ready to support you in the path you choose.

There is a place for everyone! Come experience our band and athletic programs. Along with these, we have a trap shooting team, Beta Club and FFA. The 2022-23 school year is going to be full of excitement, fun and growth as we get back to regular school life.

I hope you get to come and embrace the Rattler Way!

I am Matt Binford, principal of Magazine High School. While I am new to the school, the school is not new to me. I have been coming to Magazine since 1984 with my now wife of 30-plus years, Ellen Wingfield Binford. Together, we have three boys. Ellen’s mom and dad graduated from Magazine, and their hearts never left the valley. It is my honor to be a part of this community and serve where my extended family has belonged and loved for many years.

It has been exciting to begin this work with a great group of professionals. My focus is ensuring safety and student health and creating an environment that supports excellence. Please be a part of this journey!

Go Rattlers!
