Rattler Family, on Wednesday, Mrs. Diana Loyd, rootEd Advisor, and senior Tempiest Dickens spent the day in Little Rock at the State Capitol with seven other rootEd Advisors and their seniors from across the state. They sat in on meetings with the House and Senate committee members and rootEd district legislators. They heard bills introduced and debated. Heartland Forward, a partner and supporter of rootEd, along with the Arkansas Department of Education, and rootEd directors were also in attendance. Students and advisors sat in ona session in the House of Representatives to hear the "rootEd" resolution read. Students also had the opportunity during a luncheon to talk to representatives from the Arkansas Department of Health, Arkansas State Broadband Office, Arkansas Chamber of Commerce and the Arkansas Workforce Development Board. Students then shared their stories of how their rootEd Advisors have made a difference in their postsecondary decisions and what a difference it has made having them in their high schools.
