Rattler Family, here's a reminder that the annual Logan County Veterans Walk will be Saturday, Sept. 201, beginning at the Paris Courthouse. Registration begins at 7 a.m. The walk route will follow Highway 109 south to Magazine at the intersection of Highway 109 and Highway 10 and then turn west on Highway 10 to the intersection of Highway 23 at the Booneville Courthouse. Rattler Family, 40 juniors and seniors attended a Career Fair at Arkansas Tech University today (Thursday, Sept. 18). Students were able to visit two-year and four-year college recruiters and military branches. They learned about available scholarships, programs of study and other valuable information about each school. Rattler Family, Mrs. Diana Loyd, Magazine Schools rootEd College and Career Advisor, along with senior Mattie Terry visited Crowley's Ridge College, toured the campus, sat in on chapel, sat in on a class and got to meet other students attending CRC. They also got to visit with their softball coaches. Rooted allows Mrs. Loyd to expose our seniors to different colleges and careers by making college visits, job shadowing, taking industry tours, and visiting people in different professions. Each senior will meet with Mrs. Loyd to choose at least three postsecondary plans and throughout the year, she help them make a decision and plan accordingly.
