Rattler Family, one of our top priorities at Magazine Schools is preparing our students for life after high school. Among the many opportunities our students have when they graduate is joining the military. Today (Thursday, Sept. 14), representatives with the Arkansas National Guard spoke to our junior and senior students about the National Guard and the many benefits the National Guard offers graduates, such as job-specific training and college tuition benefits. Rattler Family, we strive to provide our students a variety of learning opportunities. This morning, our high school students in seventh-12th grades attended a presentation of "It's All Greek to Me" performed by Theater Squared. The show featured three actresses and a stage manager taking the students on a wild ride through Ancient Greece where they learn all about the origins of the art form as these strong female leads -- Electra, Medea and Antigone -- make a case for their place in theatre history. The show, which addresses core content standards in ELA and theatre, also featured audience participation, hilarious reenactments and a rap battle royale worthy of the ages. After the 45-minute performance, the actresses and stage manager took questions from the students. Also, a select group of students took part in a 45-minute acting workshop conducted by the troupe.
