Three Rattler competitors finished in the Top 50 -- sophomore Caleb Staton (43/50 score) and freshmen Sam Hartman (41/50 score) and Zayne Allen (40/50 score). There were 547 competitors in the event. Rattler Family, we are excited to partner with the South Logan County Boys and Girls Club to pilot Transfr VR: Virtual Reality Training for Workforce Development. This platform is designed to prepare students for well-paying careers in high-demand fields. We will also partner with South Logan County Boys and Girls Club facilitator, Hayden Fennell. Coach Chance Shelby has agreed to pilot this program during his sixth-period class with eighth-graders. Mr. Fennell will work with small groups of eighth-graders using the Transfr VR each Friday afternoon in Diamondback Arena. This past Friday (April 28), students took part in virtual reality simulations in hospitality, safety, oil changes and robotics. It has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 18, beginning at 4 p.m. in the old high school gym. Cost is $5 per player/$30 per team of six. Admission for spectators will be $1. This helps our Backpack program by providing non-perishable breakfast items that are both nutritious and kid-friendly for children and families who would otherwise go without the most important meal of the day.
